Download Oracle Developer Suite 10G
Oracle provides free download of tools for development and learning purpose. Oracle Developer Suite is also available as a download on OTN site.

Accept License Agreement on this page. You need Oracle Account to download any software. If you do not have an account, you can create it here.
Download both the .zip files ds_windows_x86_101202_disk1.zip and ds_windows_x86_101202_disk2.zip. Extract these files on the local desk. There should be 2 folders one for disk1 and other for disk2.
Pre-requisite for Windows(Vista, 7 & 10)
After downloading the setup files in your local system, change the Compatibility
mode of the setup file to avoid the "Unknown Error" during installation.
- Right click on Setup file
- Go to properties option
- Go to Compatibility Tab
• Next change your Virtual memory settings of your PC to a minimum of 256 MB
and a maximum of 512 MB for paging file size. (Navigation-> Right Click My
computer -> Properties -> Advanced system Settings -> Under Performance,
click on settings -> Under advanced tab, under Virtual Memory click on Change)
• Change the Paging size as shown and restart the PC.
Now run your installer and there won’t be any compatibility problems for you anymore.
You can run all your tools without any problem just like in a XP SP2 PC.

that this article helps to all those who are struggling to install Developer Tools 10g on
Vista OS.
Start Installation
Open ds_windows_x86_101202_disk1 folder and Click on setup.exe. The Oracle Universal Installer does the quick requirement for Operating System and Virtual Memory and launch the setup wizard.
We are going to install it on Windows 10 which is not certified so got below error.
Checking operating system version: must be 5.0, 5.1 or 5.2. Actual 6.2 Failed
Exiting Oracle Universal Installer
When you exit the installer, Windows ask if you want to Install using compatibility settings. Select the option and it should start the installation.
If you do not get any such option, What you need to do here is run the setup.exe in compatibility mode. Right click on setup.exe. In compatibility tab, select Windows XP Service Pack 3 and run setup again.
Specify file locations. By default, it populates Source files and destination installation folder. You can change it if required.
Select Installation Type
Choose what type of installation do you want?
J2EE Development – Provides a lightweight installation that allows you to develop Java and Enterprise Edition (J2EE) applications using Java, HTML, XML, and SQL.
Complete – Select this option to install Oracle Forms Developer, Oracle Designer, Oracle Reports Developer and Oracle10g JDeveloper. This option also installs Oracle Application Server Containers for J2EE (OC4J) and the relevant Oracle Application Server runtime services (Oracle Application Server Forms Services and Oracle Application Server Reports Services) and configures OC4J as the default listener for testing purposes

Next step installer again Analyze Dependencies. You may get below virtual memory error if you have not set.
Install has encountered an error while attempting to verify your virtual memory setting. please verify that the sum of the initial size of the paging files is at least 256MB.
Here you need to change the Virtual Memory setting of the computer. Right click on Computer->Properties-> Advanced System Settings -> Virtual Memory. Uncheck automatic and set the value somewhere greater than 512 MB.
Provide Outgoing Mail Server information
Enter Outgoing Mail Server information if you have else leave it blank. Click on next.
Below is the summary of installation. Click on Install.
This should start the installation process.
Select the OracleDevsuite Disk 2 folder by clicking on the Browe button.
Installation is complete. Just click on Exit and you are done.
So go ahead and install it if you are using 10G version. I am going to write some tutorials on form builder, report builder. Make sure to set forms development environment.
